Stanford Strikes With Pledge from Christian Sanders

Anyone that watched the Houston Defenders, one of the top teams grassroots basketball teams in the country over the spring and summer, knew the team was loaded. Talented 2013 twins Andrew and Aaron Harrison, explosive athlete Derrick Griffin and center Shaquille Cleare all turned heads. When opposing teams focused too much on the flashy style or monstrous dunks of those players, the ball was often kicked out to the perimeter, where 6′-3″ guard Christian Sanders would often drain a long-distance shot, or penetrate for a mid-range jump shot.
Even on a loaded team, Sanders was easily recognizable as a high-major prospect. Today, he declared where he’ll play college ball, and the sterlign long-distance outside shooter committed to Stanford, according to Houston-area basketball writer Jim Hicks, of RCS Sports.
