New York Knicks: Let?s Meet Mike Woodson

So in this lockout there is not much news. However one piece of news that Knicks fans will be interested in is that the Knicks have brought in Mike Woodson as an assistant coach in the recent weeks. Woodson was drafted by the Knicks in 1980 with the 12th overall pick so he does have ties to the organization which is always a plus.
Experts say the best thing about Woodson?s coaching philosophy is that he?s able to get the best out of his players defensively which is exactly what the Knicks coaching staff is looking for.
You probably know Woodson from his head coaching days with the Atlanta Hawks and if you remember Woodson for one reason and you?re like me then you remember him for shaving his head after the Hawks made the playoffs in 2008 as a promise to his players for the accomplishment. It?s obvious the two influences that made Woodson the great defensive mind that he is. The first would be playing under Bob Knight at the University of Indiana where Knight called him his protege....
