30 in 30: Toronto Maple Leafs

Will playoff drought end? It may come down to ReimerThe Toronto Maple Leafs, one of hockey?s most storied franchises, have not made the Stanley Cup Playoffs since the lockout. This is due to a variety of reasons such as inconsistent play, poor goaltending, bad luck with injuries, etc. It seems like everything that could go wrong for the Leafs in the last six seasons has.With that said, the Leafs were not exactly terrible last season. The team finished 37-34-11 for 85 points, which put them eight points out of the eighth and final spot of the Eastern Conference. The Leafs played some of their best hockey in the second half of the season after starting the year with a 19-25-5 record. In the final 33 games, the Leafs went on a 18-9-6 run, which enabled them to finish the year on a strong note and provide die-hard their fans with some promise.To help try and fulfill that promise, GM Brian Burke made a few moves this offseason.
