Eskridge leaves Minnesota football team

New Minnesota football coach Jerry Kill says leading rusher DeLeon Eskridge is leaving the program because he needs to be closer to home in San Francisco to attend to a family matter.

Eskridge rushed for 698 yards and seven touchdowns last year for the Golden Gophers. Kill says he felt it was in Eskridge's best interests to leave the program before his senior season.

Kill also announced Friday that tight end Tiree Eure (ty-ree YUR'-ee) was leaving the program because ''it just didn't work out.''

Kill also announced the additions of receiver Malcolm Moulton and quarterback Dexter Foreman.

Moulton is a transfer from Fort Scott Community College in Kansas and Foreman played at Manvel High School in Texas last season.
