2011 NBA Draft Grades: Grading the Teams and Picks of the NBA Draft

The overwhelming consensus on the 2011 NBA Draft is that the talent level is shallow at best. Of course, the years to come will decide that, but with so many unknown players in this draft, it's hard to tell one 18-year-old European player apart from another.

What we do know is that Kyrie Irving will be selected No. 1 overall and Derrick Williams will be selected No. 2, barring something out of this world happening. However, it would be hard to say for sure that both of those players will be All-Stars one day.

Though the talent level is low, what will make this draft exciting is everything around it.

The player draft order after the second pick is still up in the air. Just ask ESPN analyst Chad Ford, who seems utterly confused in his latest mock drafts.

The behind-the-scenes deals and the possibility of blockbuster trades will bring a great deal of suspense to the NBA Draft.

It's hard to tell whether this is ESPN creating false hype or not, but several high-profile players have been involved in trade rumors over the past 24 hours.

The players mentioned include Tony Parker, Andre Iguodala, Lamar Odom, Monta Ellis and Pau Gasol. Teams like the Spurs and Lakers are rumored to be trying to move up into the top ten.

While this draft may not be as stocked with overwhelming talent as some in the past, everything involved may make this quite a suspenseful evening for the both the teams and players around the league.
