Bowyer gets truck win in home state

Prior to Saturday?s O?Reilly Auto Parts 250 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Kansas Speedway, Emporia, Kan., native Clint Bowyer had never visited victory lane at the track in his home state. He changed that on Saturday, and in dominating fashion.



?I?m so happy to finally be in victory lane here,? Bowyer said.

Bowyer led 124 laps of the 167-lap race, including the last 46, to finally win a race at Kansas Speedway.

?We were just that good,? Bowyer?s crew chief, Bruce Cook, said.

The win was Cook?s first as a crew chief.

As Bowyer dominated the top spot, Johnny Sauter dominated the second position. Sauter led a few laps here and there throughout the race and gave Bowyer a battle for the lead on restarts, but Bowyer would always end up getting by him and pulling away, until another caution would come out to bunch the race field back up.

Sauter wound up finishing second.

?I couldn?t be any prouder of everybody at ThorSport (Racing),? Sauter said.
