Report: Phillies Inquire About Jorge Posada

Don't shoot the messenger, but according to MLBTR.com, the Phillies have shown interst in free agent catcher Jorge Posada.
The news is quite surprising because the Phillies appear set at catcher with Carlos Ruiz and Brian Schnieder, and they appear comfortable with their bench players. But then again, Posada can play some first base, which means he could make a few spot starts in relief of Jim Thome.
But still, there's no reason for them to even have any interest. Posada is 40 years old and is dealing with bad knees. He batted .235 with 14 HR's and 44 RBI's last season. The Phillies are already old enough, there's no need for them to sign yet another aging body.
