Venus Williams Withdraws from Rogers Cup with Viral Illness

Tennis Canada announced that Venus Williams has withdrawn from the Rogers Cup tournament in Toronto due to a viral illness.
?I was really excited to play Toronto,? said Williams. ?I came here ready to go and was practicing. I wasn?t feeling very well and had to see the doctor today. I was diagnosed with a viral illness and unfortunately am unable to play. I am extremely disappointed. I?m very sorry to the fans and tournament.?
Qualifier Zhang Shuai will be replacing Williams?s place in the draw. Zhang will play her first-round match on Tuesday, August 9 against Ana Ivanovic. �The extra spot in the draw went to lucky loser, Lourdes Dominguez Lino.
