Yankees Cut Jesus Montero, 6 Others, & Sell 1 to Japan

The Yankees top minor league prospect, Jesus Montero, has not made the major league roster and will start the season in Triple-A Scranon, according to Marc Carig of the Newark Star-Ledger.
Mark Prior was cut, he?ll go to extended spring training. IF Doug Bernier, OF Justin Maxwell, and IF Ramiro Pena were assigned to Triple-A. C Austin Romine to Double-A. Ronnie Belliard was released. Romulo Sanchez had his rights sold to a Japanese team, according to Bryan Hoch of MLB.com.
This leaves 1B/3B Eric Chavez, SS/2B Eduardo Nunez, OF Chris Dickerson, and C Gustavo Molina to make up the Yankees bench.
It has also left the bullpen options down to either LHP Steve Garrison or RHP Luis Ayala for that final spot. Garrison probably has the edge here, but they?ll probably take a look at the teams they are facing and decide which pitcher will be needed more.
