Medlen Slams Braves Past Dodgers

Kris Medlen hit a solo homer and pitched� 6 2/3 shutout innings as the Atlanta� Braves defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers Saturday night, 2-1.� The win gives the Braves a chance to split the series Sunday afternoon. After a Dan Uggla solo shot, and a B.J. Upton strikeout, Braves starting pitcher Kris Medlen belted a solo shot of his own. The home run was the 1st of Medlen?s big league career. Those solo homers came off Dodgers starting pitcher, Steven Fife. Kris Medlen was sharp on the mound as well.� He finished his night in the 7th inning with a final line of 6.2IP, 0ER, 1BB, and 6K?s.� Medlen was the 3rd Atlanta starter in as many nights with a quality start.� The win for Medlen improved his record to 3-6 on the season and lowered his ERA to 2.87. The Dodgers finally got on the scoreboard in the 8th inning.� Hanley Ramirez, pinch-hitting for Andre Either, singled to bring in Nick Punto.� That run cut the Braves lead to 2-1.
