Golfer Phil Mickelson needs a win today at the Wells Fargo Championship, to prove he is still relevant on the PGA Tour.

Phil Mickelson is off and running at the Wells Fargo Championship, at the Quail Hollow Club, in Charlotte, NC. Mickelson is in need of a win. He hasn?t played that great in 2013 and he needs to show he still can win on the PGA tour. Currently he holds a one stroke lead over Rory McIlroy and a host of others who are trying to chase down Phil. Mickelson is already through his first 7 hole in his final round. He made one birdie and one bogey so far today. He has to be able to play well if he is going to claim first place today. Phil needs this win not only to show he can still win, he needs a confidence booster as well. If he can win this would be a great start to his month of May and could help him in the seasons other 3 majors. Mickelson had a terrible Masters tournament and he has to be able to play better if he expects to compete in this years U.S. Open. It will be interesting to see if Phil can hold on and win today.
