Serena Williams Surges Past Azarenka for Madrid Open Title

Serena Williams dominated No. 1 Victoria Azarenka 6-1, 6-3 to capture her first Madrid Open title, her 41st career WTA title. The win extends her unbeaten streak on clay to 13-0, with three clay court titles in 2012.
Williams, who will move up in the rankings to No. 6 on Monday, hit 26 winners and hit 14 aces past her opponent.
Williams broke Azarenka three times in the first set. The Belarusian had no answers to the American?s serve or returns.
?I can still do better,? said Williams. ?This is really good. I have been working hard. I had some tough battles and really unfortunate circumstances so I really love this.?
?I want to congratulate Serena for a great week,? said Azarenka. ?She did a great job.?
Williams is� now 23-2 for the 2012.
