Tony Romo got Benched in Beach Football

The Fourth of July weekend needs some "America's team" news to make it a better holiday. The Dallas Cowboys' quarterback Tony Romo played along with other current/former Cowboys in a Sean Payton hosted beach football game this weekend. Some people have pointed out that this story may cross lockout lines, current coaches and players were together, but that is not the real news from the game.

The real story is that Tony Romo was benched due to his passing struggles during the 7-on-7 game featuring quarterback Tony Romo, tight end Jason Witten and Hall of Famer Troy Aikman, Detroit Lions linebacker Bobby Carpenter, formerly of the Cowboys, and obviously Saints coach Sean Payton, according to SportsNOLA.com.
