Murray positive on return;TENNIS DAVIS CUP

EXACTLY a week after facing Rafael Nadal at Wimbledon , Andy Murray will return to the court today against an unranked opponent who makes his living from coaching.

The world No.4 will make his Davis Cup comeback by playing Luxembourg's Laurent Bram at Glasgow's Braehead Arena.

Earlier James Ward, a semi-finalist at Queen's last month, will open against Gilles Muller in the Europe/Africa Zone Group II tie. Bram, who has lost nine of his last 11 Davis Cup singles matches, stopped playing professionally four years ago.

Murray will also face him on Saturday as he and brother Jamie play their first Davis Cup doubles match as a pairing, with 18-year-old Mike Vermeer completing the quartet.

The Wimbledon semi-finalist admitted he felt re-energised by his return in the Davis Cup in front of an enthusiastic Scottish crowd.

'It should be good,' he said. 'Everyone has been really upbeat and positive.

'That's been great, something you need this time of year.' Murray plays under Leon Smith for the first time, and the coach said: 'I know we keep mentioning it but it's a big deal having Andy in our team. It helps all our players.'
