Carson hints of sophomore year as 'last go round' at ASU

TEMPE, Ariz. -- It would surprise no one if Arizona State sophomore point guard Jahii Carson opted to turn pro after the 2013-14 season, and Carson seemed to make it semi-official Tuesday, tweeting that this is his "last go round" at ASU.

This year at ASU I'm participating I'm every school event. This my last go round time to have fun Jahii Carson (@Jahii_carson1) August 6, 2013

Carson has not officially informed ASU about his decision, but some believe that is a mere formality.

"It was a hard enough decision to come back" for this season, said a source familiar with situation.

ASU is leaving this week for an exhibition tour of China.

Carson, 21, was the Pac-12 co-freshman of the year in 2012-13 after averaging 18.5 points, 5.1 assists, 3.7 rebounds and 1.2 steals.

He put his name in for consideration for the 2013 NBA draft but opted to not turn pro when he was advised that he would not go in the lottery.

Carson, 5-foot-11, is projected as the 17th pick in the 2014 draft by
