Power douses fire at IndyCar testing

Will Power was hoping to get on track before Tuesday's lunch break after a fire damaged the engine of his Chevrolet on the first day of IndyCar spring training.

The fire erupted late in Monday's practice session in Sebring, Fla. Power says it was because of a leak, discovered by his Penske Racing team.

Trying to ward off too much damage to his car, Power raced across the track to grab the fire extinguisher from the safety worker and put the flames out.

He says it was the first time he's played fire marshal.

It made for interesting banter on Twitter as fans wondered if Power had the extinguisher with him in the car.
