Cubs catcher Castillo laughs off horrible throw
Your browser does not support iframes. Chicago Cubs catcher Wellington Castillo laughed off a horrible throw to shortstop, that was supposed to go to second base, during Monday night's game at Wrigley Field. It happened in the fourth inning with Cincinnati Reds runner Joey Votto on first. Cubs pitcher Travis Wood threw a wild pitch that bounced a few feet in front of Castillo, which bounced past him and allowed Votto to advance to second. The ball stayed close enough to home plate to allow Castillo to track it down and make a desperation throw to second, even though he had no chance to get Votto. Unfortunately, not only did Castillo's throw go straight into the ground, but it rolled towards shortstop instead of the intended target at second base. Castillo got a good laugh out of his throw, as well as the television broadcasters. It's been that kind of year for the Cubs. However, we can honestly say it's not the worst throw by a catcher in the major leagues this year. Video via MLB.
