Updated Look at the East; Sabres Beat Canes in OT
Why am I not surprised that the Buffalo Sabres and Carolina Hurricanes needed overtime to decide their tilt in Raleigh this evening, meaning they both got at least a point in the standings? Because it makes for a dramatic finish to the season, and with the Rangers, everything is dramatic.The Sabres ended up getting the full two points in overtime, putting them ahead of the Rangers in seventh place for the time being. Here is an updated look at the playoff race in the Eastern Conference:6) Montreal - 91 points7) Buffalo - 90 points8) NY Rangers - 89 points------------------------------------------9) Carolina - 87 pointsThe Rangers can clinch a playoff spot by going 2-0-1 in their final three games of the season, and that is assuming the Hurricanes win out the remainder of their schedule.
