World's oldest baseball card sold

Imagine the world?s oldest baseball card and getting ready to sell it. Not a care in the world, you are about to get paid a ridiculous sum of money and never have to work a day in your life, right? Wrong. Don?t get me wrong, I am not snubbing my nose at $92,000, but it just seemed like it should have been worth much more? Jason LeBlanc of Newburyport, Mass. purchased the card as an investment for his son this past week at the Saco River Auction Company in Portland, Maine. The card dates all the way back to 1865 and has an image of an old Brooklyn Atlantics amateur team. Another oddity is that it features the team as opposed to one player and it a photograph mounted on card-stock. I guess Upper Deck wasn?t around back then, huh? The man who sold the card had picked it up for a cool $100 at a garage sale along with some other old furniture. [Art Info] Article found on: Cosby Sweaters
