Maple Leafs D Phaneuf takes puck to face vs. Jets

Toronto Maple Leafs captain Dion Phaneuf was named to the All-Star Game on Thursday, but one might understand if he isn't willing to flash a smile.
Phaneuf took a puck to the side of the face in the waning moments of Thursday's 4-0 triumph over the Winnipeg Jets.
The 26-year-old defenseman, who had an assist earlier in the contest, was lying in a pool of blood just outside the crease.
"His mouth is swollen, but he didn't lose any teeth," Maple Leafs coach Ron Wilson told the Toronto Sun. "We'll just have to wait and see what the X-rays and everything else show."
The ninth overall pick of the 2003 draft, Phaneuf has recorded six goals, 21 assists and 47 penalty minutes this season.
