Clemson?s famed Howard?s Rock vandalized
In a story that?s just starting to get pickup after a statement from Athletic Director Dan Radakovich, Clemson?s fabled Howard?s Rock was vandalized and damaged over a week ago. Police are investigating the matter. In a written statement, Radakovich had the following to say, per the Post and Courier: ?We take vandalism, especially of such an important part of our history, very seriously,? Clemson athletic director Dan Radakovich wrote in a statement. ?Police are investigating.? The rock, which sits atop the hill Clemson players descend into Memorial Stadium, was installed there in 1966, and is part of Clemson?s pregame ritual as the players rub the rock for good luck before running down the hill. Naturally, Howard?s Rock provides a good photo op for recruits and visitors to campus, and that has helped nail down the timeline of the vandalism.
