WrestleMania 28: How the Rock vs. John Cena Proves Cena's Critics Right

WWE referred to Rock vs. Cena as the biggest main event in the history of WrestleMania.

While it was intense and at times beautiful to watch, John Cena sullied a potential classic with his overeager, goofy antics.

There was no better opponent for the Rock's return than Cena.

That pairing created a buzz that rivaled Rock and Hogan.

Despite not wrestling for several years, the Rock was ready to go.  He jumped back into the routine seamlessly.

The moment was right, the players were right.  John Cena held it back.

The initial faceoff could have been an iconic moment we saw on highlights for years to come.  Instead of approaching it with intensity, Cena played the giddy kid who can't stand still.

In the ring he did fine, but the Rock outclassed him, dwarfing Cena with his star power.

Cena is one of the most frustrating wrestlers to watch.

There are nights, with the right partner, that he turns his match into a spectacle you cannot look away from.

Versus CM Punk at Money in the Bank 2011, Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania 23 and Umaga at the 2007 Royal Rumble, he proved his greatness.

And then there are the times that he grins and goofs off and is too much like a kid on a sugar high than a man in a fight.

Against the Rock, he didn't match intensity with the Brahma Bull and he didn't live up to the moment.

This was his night to carve out the clear best match of the night, to show why he's been crowned the king of the main event.

Had he done half of what Chris Jericho and Triple H did in defeat, the post-WrestleMania conversation would be more about John Cena than the Rock.

And maybe a few Cena-haters would climb off his back.
