The LA Galaxy midfielder said the black and white picture of his 37-year-old wife, which shows her reclining in the sun with her "bump" fully exposed, was taken without her knowing.
The caption underneath reads, "Took this pic of Victoria while she wasn't looking. She looks amazing, so close now to the baby being born!"
About 10 hours after it was posted, the picture had been "liked" by more than 20,000 other users of the social networking site.
Victoria later appeared to get her own back on her husband, taking to her Twitter account to post a photo of 36-year-old David surfing.
She tweeted, "Brooklyn [their son] took this pic of David while teaching him to surf!!!! X VB"
The former Spice Girl is reportedly booked into a private hospital in Los Angeles this weekend to give birth to her fourth child -- a girl -- via caesarian.
She has already revealed that the British star couple have been working out a musical playlist for the birth.
"David has been downloading music for our baby! Rockabye baby lullaby renditions, so cool! Love The Beatles album!!! X VB," she tweeted last week.
English soccer icon David has said, "We're really excited. You know, it's a whole new different thing for us. To have so much pink in the house, lilac in the house, and dresses. You know all the clothes are ready, the room's ready, so we're all ready for it and all excited."
The Beckhams already have boys Brooklyn, 12, Romeo, eight, and Cruz, six.
