Report: Nazr Mohammed To Sign With Bulls

We can lay the Darko Milicic rumors to rest ? the Chicago Bulls have found a back-up center. Nazr Mohammed, who many thought would be a Brooklyn Net, has decided to sign with the Bulls, according to NY Post?s Peter Vescey.

ESPN Chicago later confirmed this report the interest, but not the deal. The news comes as close to a guarantee as you can get that the team will not match Omer Asik?s poison pill offer from the Houston Rockets. The 6?10? Mohammed, a Chicago native, averaged 2.7 points and 2.7 rebounds for Oklahoma City last season where he saw limited minutes in the stacked front court. A seasoned vet (14 years) and winner (2005 NBA Champ), Mohammed should fit well with Chicago and fill in at the spurts he?s needed ? we all know Taj Gibson will be seeing most of the back-up minutes at both PF and C this season.
