Long have the highways and byways of Mississippi been the front lines of the epic battle of SEC West afterthoughts, both parties hell bent on having their right of supremacy recognized by the local citizenry. The opening volleys of this war were fired long ago during the legendary “Reign of the Legion of Croom” and have vigorously continued during the “Days of Mullen”. The battlefield had been somewhat quiet once the season started, presumably because the schools were more invested in their actual mediocre (State) and abysmal (Ole Miss) seasons to worry about pithy little billboard squabbles.
