Twitter rumor about Les Miles proves false
It was 11 months ago that the college football offseason became really interesting thanks to motorcycle accident which ended up being the tip of the iceberg for an affair between an SEC coach and a much younger employee. Yesterday evening, thanks to Twitter, a silly rumor about LSU Tigers head coach Les Miles became a ?story? for about an hour or so. I follow thousands of people on Twitter, and many of them follow thousands as well, so rumors spread quickly. This one came from a Western Kentucky reporter, of all places. Here is how it started: There are rumors that LSU head football coach Les Miles will step down on Monday after allegedly having an affair with a student. Hmm? ? Sam McGaw (@sammcgaw) March 3, 2013 And just like that, the retweets started happening. It quickly worked its way to my feed, and thousands of others. It also put message boards, specifically LSU ones, on high alert. Then, we found out that this rumor actually began where most do, those same message boards: ....
