Toluca went into the Estadio Omnilife on Thursday night with only one goal: to leave Guadalajara with the score in their favor. They were able to accomplish that with two goals in the first half, and although they were not winners in the possession of the ball, they won the game 2-1.
Chivas was focused from the first minute to attack with wingers Marco Fabian and Jesus Sanchez, but this was poorly done in the first 45 minutes. Once again, the defense led by Hector Reynoso made two costly mistakes which cost them the game, and possibly their stance in the playoffs.
With the 2-1 win in the Liguilla 2012, Toluca is very close to qualifying into the semifinals. The only way Toluca can get eliminated is if they lose by two goals or if Chivas wins by the score 3-2 at the Estadio Nemesio Diez on Sunday. In other words, Chivas has a very difficult mission to accomplish, but weirder things have happened before.
