Zach Parise: Flyers' Offense Would Be Most Dangerous in NHL with Parise

The Philadelphia Flyers scored the third most goals in the 2011-2012 NHL last season. If they can sign free-agent Zach Parise, there is no way that Peter Laviolette wouldn't have the best offense in the league.

According to TSN's Bob McKenzie, Parise will make his decision tomorrow:

Parise has narrowed his potential choices down to the New Jersey Devils, the Minnesota Wild, the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Detroit Red Wings and the Flyers, according to McKenzie.

That doesn't exactly clear anything up, as the five teams will be doing their best to wow Parise with a long-term deal and a massive salary; but if all goes well for Philadelphia, the Flyers would establish one of the most deadly first lines in the NHL with Parise playing alongside Claude Giroux at right wing. (Giroux finished with 93 points last seasons, good for third amongst all players.)

Both have the playmaking ability to work together right off the bat. Giroux finished the season second in the league with 65 assists, while Parise contributed 38 helpers of his own.

Scott Hartnell would work well with Parise too, if need be. He's more of a goalscorer than he is an assist guy, finishing the season with 37 goals and 30 assists. The 30-year-old left winger would flourish on the ice with Parise, who would be a good facilitator in the Flyers' offense.

Danny Briere would also have a field day playing on the same line as Parise and Giroux, as the pair would create a lot of openings in the defense for other shooters to take advantage of.

The chances of Parise joining the team seem pretty bright. According to Philly Burbs, the Flyers extended a massive offer to the 27-year-old right winger, and reports are surfacing that Parise will be making his decision tomorrow.

Is it a coincidence or not? We won't know until Parise makes his decision public, but it's safe to say that the Flyers have a decent chance of bringing one of the offseason's most courted free agents to play at the Wells Fargo Center.
