Israeli soccer goalkeeper has strangest own goal ever, with help from extreme winds (Video)

In a recent Israeli soccer match, Maccabi Haifa goalkeeper Assaf Mendes makes a clearance kick directly into the wind. Unfortunately for Mendes, this was no ordinary wind, but extreme gale-force wind, which caught the ball in the air and sent the ball backwards and past Mendes for what may be the most unusual own goal ever.

A valuable lesson for soccer goalkeepers everywhere: check the wind before you make a clearance kick.
