Christian Laettner owes big money to big names

This is typically the time of year that Christian Laettner gets to be celebrated, repeatedly. We will see the clip of him hauling in Grant Hill?s 3/4 pass and then delivering one of the greatest buzzer beater shots more than any other highlight from past NCAA Tournaments. However, Laettner right now, is dealing with something much more difficult than the terrible Kentucky defense.

The former Duke All-American, along with this former teammate, Brian Davis, will be in court next week in front of a Washington, DC judge. Their real estate loan company has failed to pay another Duke alum, Johnny Dawkins $671,309. They might be held in contempt of court unless they can prove that the failure was due to lack of resources. Laettner and Davis are already paying back former NBA great, Scottie Pippen $2.5 million, who lent them money as well.
Former All-Pro linebacker, Shawne Merrimen is also owed money from the duo. The total due to Merrimen is $3.7 million.
