Ochocinco inactive for Pats vs. Ravens

Patriots wide receiver Chad Ochocinco is inactive for Sunday's AFC championship game against the Baltimore Ravens.

Ochocinco tweeted earlier this week that his father had died. The Patriots have not announced a reason for his being inactive.

In his first season with New England, Ochocinco played in 15 regular-season games, missing a Week 11 win at Philadelphia. He started three times and had 15 catches with one touchdown in 2011.

Also inactive is rookie RB Stevan Ridley, who was active for every game. Ridley, who rushed for 441 yards this season, fumbled against Denver in the divisional round.

Baltimore CB Chykie Brown is inactive, but CB Chris Carr, who missed last week's win over Houston with thigh and back injuries, is suited up.

2012 NFL Free Agents: Aging Stars Who Can Still Bring Value

The 2012 NFL free-agent class isn't anything special. Outside of Drew Brees and Ray Rice, there are no legitimate game-changers who have the ability to make an impact every night for the foreseeable future.

However, there are a number of veterans who can still produce at a high level on a regular basis, which will make them a target for teams that need steady output at a certain position.

Reggie Wayne, Indianapolis Colts

The five-time Pro Bowler has recorded 862 receptions and racked up 11,708 yards in his career while hauling in 73 TDs.

Wayne has been in the league for 11 years and put up phenomenal numbers with Peyton Manning throwing him the ball.

He had a down year with Kerry Collins, Curtis Painter and Dan Orlovsky chucking the rock, but Wayne still has the ability to make an impact and is one of the better route-runners available.

Wes Welker, New England Patriots

If we are talking about route-runners, there is no one better than Wes Welker.

The 30-year-old receiver is not going to decline anytime soon, and he had one of his finest seasons in 2011-2012.

Welker had 122 receptions and gained 1,569 yards to go along with nine touchdowns. It was an incredible display of ability and ensured that he will be getting a big paycheck this offseason.

Robert Mathis, Indianapolis Colts

In a league where great pass-rushers are a relative rarity, Mathis is sure to be a coveted free agent.

The Colts look like they may be blowing everything up and rebuilding, meaning they will be hesitant to sign a 30-year-old defensive end.

That won't stop a great number of other teams from pursuing the Alabama A&M product. Mathis had 9.5 sacks last year and still looks like an absolute beast at times.

Don't be surprised to see Mathis get one last big contract.

Golf: Mark Wilson, Ben Crane, David Toms Tied for Humana Challenge lead

Mark Wilson lines up his second shot next to a herd of bighorn sheep on the 16th hole at the Palmer Private Course at the PGA West during the second round of the Humana Challenge in partnership with the Clinton Foundation golf tournament January 20, 2012 in La Quinta, California.(January 19, 2012 ? Photo by Denis Poroy/Getty Images North America)LA QUINTA, Calif. (AP) ? When Mark Wilson got to 8 under through 11 holes on the Palmer Private course Friday, he seriously discussed golf?s magic number with playing partner Harrison Frazar, who once shot a 59 on another Humana Challenge course.?I don?t know why the conversation went there ? but I thought about it,? Wilson said.Wilson ended up posting the lowest score of his career, and that 62 wasn?t even the best round of the day in the desert. Bob Hope?s name is no longer on this reformatted tournament, but its tradition of stunningly low scores is still going strong.Wilson pulled even with Ben Crane and David Toms at 16-under 128 to sha...

Arsenal vs. Manchester United Live Blog: News, Goals, Updates and Analysis

Arsenal vs. Manchester United

Live Premier League football from the Emirates Stadium: Sunday, January 22nd 2012, kick off 16:00 UK / 11:00 ET.

8-2.

Remember last August? Arsenal were in meltdown, United were dead-certs to win the league again, Marouane Chamakh was an attacking option for Arsene Wenger and David de Gea still started league games for United.

This is January, and the stakes are arguably much, much higher.

Welcome back football fans to another live blog commentary with me, Karl Matchett, as the Gunners entertain the Red Devils looking to exact some sort of revenge on the humiliation of that massive defeat at the beginning of the season.

Much more than three points are at stake of course, with Arsenal looking to close the gap on the Champions League places and Manchester United looking to close the gap on the actual league leaders—their neighbours Manchester City.

Stick right here for all the best build-up, in-game commentary and post-match analysis, and don't forget to get involved by leaving your comments below for your score predictions, hopes for the match and nightmares or dreams of the reverse fixture earlier in the season!

Ducks give Beauchemin 3-year extension

The Anaheim Ducks have signed veteran defenseman Francois Beauchemin to a three-year contract extension worth $10.5 million.

Anaheim announced the deal Friday, keeping Beauchemin off the free-agent market this summer.

Beauchemin is in his seventh full NHL season, playing briefly in Montreal and Columbus before a trade sent him to the Ducks in November 2005. He won the Stanley Cup with Anaheim in 2007.

Beauchemin signed with Toronto as a free agent in 2009, but the Ducks reacquired Beauchemin on Feb. 9 last year, giving up high-scoring forward Joffrey Lupul and top prospect Jake Gardiner.

The 31-year-old Beauchemin is Anaheim's top-scoring defenseman this season with six goals and 12 assists. He scored two goals on Wednesday in the Ducks' sixth win in seven games after a miserable start.
