Jets interested in Randy Moss?

From Vic Carucci of NFL.com:
According to multiple league insiders, the interest the Jets have in Moss is twofold. One, it could help them weather the very real possibility of losing at least one of their three free-agent receivers: Holmes,Braylon Edwards and Brad Smith. Two, it would keep Moss from returning to the Patriots, whom he is known to want to re-join.
Ryan also spoke about Moss last month, according to Greg Bedard of The Boston Globe.
Ryan spoke highly of Moss last month. ?Randy Moss, I?ve said all along, is a great vertical receiver,?? Ryan said at the owners? meetings. ?And you have to roll coverage. Most teams would have to roll coverage to him. We never did, but we got burned for a touchdown. But he was a weapon. A vertical weapon down the field.?? Curiously, when Ryan began to speak about Moss, he checked first with team spokesmanBruce Speight to see if it would be tampering.
I?d rather see the Jets draft a receiver in the third round of the upcoming draft th...

Big Signing: Knuble Inks 1 year extension

Mike Knuble has played a huge role in the team?s resurgence since the Winter Classic, and the Capitals management rewarded him with a one-year, $2 million extension on Monday. Knuble has meant more to this team than just about any other player over the course of the second half of the season, and it was critical for the team to lock him up for another season.
The 38-year old has played some of his best hockey in a Capitals uniform in recent weeks, scoring big goals and providing the team with a big body on the power play. If the Capitals are going to do any damage in the playoffs beyond the first two rounds, Knuble will have to be playing well. His signing shows that the Capitals? coaching staff and management have seen enough from the veteran winger to commit to him for another season, and rightfully so.
While his 24 goals aren?t overwhelming, consider that 16 of his goals have come in 2011, and seven have come with a man advantage. Knuble has probably been th...

Pedro Martinez Doesn?t Want to Go Into the Hall of Fame as a Phillie

According to an interview with Pedro Martinez that appeared in the New York Times, former Phillies pitcher Pedro Martinez stated that he doesn?t consider himself retired and if he signed a contract today, he would be pitching within the next month.
Martinez was also asked the following question: If the Yankees, Red Sox and Phillies each offered you a contract, which would you pick?
?I?d probably have to say the Red Sox,? Martinez said. ?I would like to win a World Series in the National League, so the Phillies are in there, too. But for the time I?m going to be playing, I think Boston is more suitable so that I can retire with the Boston Red Sox and go to the Hall of Fame with the same hat.?
Realistically, did anyone expect Pedro Martinez to even want to go to the Hall of Fame with the Phillies? He pitched for the team for the second half of 2009. He won five of six decisions and posted a 3.63 ERA. He started twice in the World Series against the Yanke...
