FanHouse TV: Big Ben Out on the Town

The last thing the Steelers needed was another Ben Roethlisberger scandal. Well, it hasn't blown up on him just yet, but FanHouse TV's LeCharles Bentley is not happy with Big Ben's nocturnal habits in Dallas and he talked about it in the latest Two-a-Days from Radio Row.

Scoop Jardine Isn?t Happy with the Guy Who Heard a Point-Shaving Rumor at a Bar and Put it on Web

Monday night, CRM texted me: “Have you heard the Scoop Jardine rumor?” One of the commenters mentioned that Jardine was rumored to be part of a point-shaving scandal, and it could pop soon. The rumor originated here (which has since been altered). We held off on posting, hoping something more credible would pop up. It [...]

Dale Earnhardt Jr. takes off to the Great White North

Seems they love them some Dale Earnhardt Jr. up in Canada, eh?On Monday, Earnhardt and Rick Hendrick journeyed to the General Motors Oshawa Car Assembly Plant near Toronto to observe the first three 2011 Chevy Camaro SS models rolling off the line. As SPEED reported, Hendrick used his team boss prerogative to snag the first two, a black and orange convertible and a silver model. Junior snagged that fine ride there at right, a red convertible with silver stripes. The plant manufactures 440 Camaros per day, plus Impalas, Equinoxes and, soon, the Buick Regal. And pretty much every single worker who helps one of those vehicles roll down the line showed up to meet Earnhardt."It’s inspirational to me to go
back to what I do," Earnhardt said. "It sort of adds credence to my dedication and
feeling about Chevrolet. It restores my passion in the brand." Hendrick, of course, had a bit more skin in the game, with 23 GM franchises on the line because of the company...

Source: Orien Greene Signs 10-Day Contract With Nets

Orien GreeneOrien Greene hasn't played in the NBA since he appeared in seven games with the Sacramento Kings during the 2007-08 season, but he's apparently shown the New Jersey Nets that he deserves another chance as a source has confirmed to FanHouse that Greene has received a 10-day call-up from the team.

The move was first reported by Jonathan Givony of DraftExpres on Twitter.

Greene, a 6-foot-4 guard out of Louisiana-Lafayette, was the 53rd overall pick in the 2005 NBA Draft by the Boston Celtics. Greene has played in 128 career NBA games, including seven starts, but the defensive stalwart was never able to get his offense going as he averaged just 2.5 points on 39 percent shooting in stints with the Celtics, Kings and Indiana Pacers.

The biggest thing keeping him out of the NBA, however, may have been some off-court mishaps. With the Celtics, he was suspended for driving 90 miles per hour on a city street. Last season, while playing in Venezuela, it was discovered that he failed a drug test while playing in Amsterdam a year earlier.

Washington Redskins owner wants writer of negative story about him fired

Washington Redskins owner Daniel Snyder is no stranger to controversy, and now he is seeking the dismissal of an author which wrote a negative story about him.
In November, the City Paper published an article titled, The Cranky Redskins Fan?s Guide to Daniel Snyder. The article is really a laugh to read. It outlines all of the controversial moves that Snyder has made during his reign as Redskins owner. The $10.00 fee Snyder charged fans to watch the team workout. How the team was selling peanuts at FedEx Field which were purchased from a bankrupt airline. The explanation of WTEM being called Dan-Janzeera. Outlining how every head coach that Snyder has hired during his ownership of the team has had a losing record.
After the article was published, Snyder sent a letter to the parent company of the City Paper claiming that he had been defamed and that he was considering legal action, according to the Washington Post, no such action has been taken to date. Snyder ...

Admitting I Was Wrong About Ray Allen

Yeah, I admit it. I was totally wrong. 100% mistaken. But it hasn't been the first time. And it won't be the last.

When the Celtics drafted Junior Burrough I was convinced #5 would be raised to the rafters in Boston one day. When Paul Pierce was in college, I thought he'd be the next Scotty Thurman. So last year when I was adamant about the Celtics needing to trade Ray Allen for Caron Butler, I can safely announce I was totally incorrect again.

Ray Allen has been incredible this season. It's been the most efficient shooting season of his illustrious NBA career. And when the reserves are announced Thursday night for the NBA All Star Teams it will be a travesty if he's not included (along with Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Rajon Rondo). Doc Rivers has consistently said since they acquired Ray that he had to make the most sacrifices of the Big 3. More times than not, Ray is standing on the other side of the floor while either Rondo or Pierce is operatin...
