Roy Hibbert has taken exception to the Indiana Pacers' summer league jersey.
Scott Agness of Pacers.com reported that the Pacers were going to test out the Adidas short-sleeve uniforms during summer league play.
Previously, Darren Rovell of ESPN reported that the NBA planned to expand the use of said jerseys, in an effort to drive sales revenue and give fans more versatile purchasing options.
Indiana's now famed big man isn't a fan of said expansion. At the very least, he's opposed to the version the Pacers will be tasked with sporting.
Fortunately for Hibbert, he's not at a point in his career where he'll be showcasing his talents in summer league games.
His distaste for the sleeved look is likely the result of his aversion to sleeves in general or the absence of all gold everything.
"Blue Collar, Gold Swagger" was Indiana's anthem during the team's impressive playoff run. Fans clothed themselves in school-bus-esque yellow with various blue patterns in support of the team. This was the Pacers' identity.
The sleeved experiment puts the Pacers in all black everything instead. Not even their team name is written in gold. Only the word "basketball" is.
Hibbert has a case if he's turned off by the absence of a team-defining color scheme.
At least the Golden State Warriors were able to remain shrouded in yellow.
Let us then hope that these don't make it past the summer league for the Pacers, lest Hibbert go from protecting the rim with a smirk to blocking shots while pouting.
