Gerrard hails lively Liverpool

Steven Gerrard felt Liverpool's first-half performance in their 3-0 win at QPR was one of their best of the season.

Liverpool settled the issue with three goals in 13 ruthless first-half minutes, with an electric Luis Suarez bagging two and Daniel Agger the other.

"I wouldn't say it was easy, that would be disrespectful to QPR, they are having a tough time," Gerrard told Sky Sports.

"If we started well we knew we could quieten the crowd and that was the best we've played this season in the first half.

"The plan was for us to get more goals, but Harry Redknapp is a top manager and QPR changed things in the second half so credit to them."

As to Suarez, Gerrard added: "He's been brilliant ever since he came here. He's a magician.

"These clubs have to play him twice a season but we have to play against him every day!"

NBA Trade Talk: Latest Rumors Surrounding Cleveland Cavaliers' Anderson Varejao

2013 promises to be an exciting one in the world of professional basketball, with several players facing the possibility of finding new homes.

One of the recurring names mentioned in trade talk is the Cleveland Cavaliers' Anderson Varejao, who currently leads the NBA in rebounding at 14.4 a game.

The 30-year-old Brazilian center is also averaging 14.1 points, 3.4 assists, 1.5 steals and has a PER of 22.2.

His contract is a friendly $17 million for this year and next, with a team option in 2014-15. Since the Cavs are a miserable 7-25, Varejao remains a prime candidate to be dealt.

From Steve Kyler of HoopsWorld.com:

League sources say Varejao is one of the more talked about trade targets in the league and that there are a number of teams that would move for him. However, Cleveland values him too and unless someone makes a serious offer for Varejao, the Cavs say they don’t have interest in trading him.

This is the same report that's seemingly been out there for years now. The Cavs are thin at center and value Varejao very highly, especially as a role model for players like Tristan Thompson and Tyler Zeller.

It will be interesting to see if the Cavs keep playing such poor basketball if their asking price for Andy drops.

One person who feels Varejao will get traded this season is Alex Kennedy of HoopsWorld.com:

I think they’ll trade Anderson Varejao at the deadline. Going back to selling high or low, Varejao’s trade value is at an all-time high and the Cavs can add a piece or two (and maybe a draft pick) that will help improve their young core. Varejao isn’t in the team’s long-term plan so it makes sense to trade him for someone that will be.

If the Cavs do decide to deal Varejao this season, the trade deadline would be the wise time to do it.

Teams are usually more desperate to get a deal done around that time and would likely offer more in a potential trade.

The Cavs could very well start a bidding war between contenders, escalating what they could get as opposed to trading Varejao now.

Jason Lloyd of the Akron Beacon Journal weighed in on a possible trade partner for the Cavs in a recent article, saying:

It will be difficult for the Cavs to get fair market value for Varejao, particularly since any draft pick they acquire would be low since it would come from a contender. The Oklahoma City Thunder hold the rights to the Toronto Raptors’ first-round pick next summer (top three protected), which should be an appealing pick given the Raptors’ struggles, but the Thunder aren’t pursuing Varejao. He would be deadly playing alongside Serge Ibaka and Kendrick Perkins, but no one polled thought the Thunder would meet the Cavs’ demands — which just might include Ibaka.

As good as Varejao is, it would be hard to picture the Thunder giving up Ibaka, who they drafted and signed to an extension, for him in any deal.

They would likely have to match up salaries in some other way (Nick Collison, Kendrick Perkins) instead of including Ibaka.

For now, Varejao remains very much a mystery as he tried to rehab his way from a knee injury.

With the NBA trade deadline less than two months away, expect the Varejao trade rumors to continue to heat up.

Vick Ballard is good, but is he Franchise RB good?

The quest for the Indianapolis Colts to find a new Franchise running back has so far led to Vick Ballard, but can Ballard carry the moniker of Franchise back? The Colts haven?t had a truly Franchise running back since Edgerrin James and the recent replacements for The Edge in Joseph Addai and Donald Brown. Brown is still on the team, but he is just a holdover from a roster the current Colt front office could see without. However Ballard is an interesting prospect to be the Colts next Franchise running back, because he wasn?t drafted to fill such a role. Ballard drafted in the 5th round and that type of position points toward Ballard being nothing, but a stop-gap until they bring in a true Franchise back.? Read more

LSU strength coach rips players

LSU strength and conditioning coach Tommy Moffitt has a message for any NFL scouts who may inquire about the character of some of his players:Attention NFL Scouts: The following athletes miss workouts and always have an excuse. These men lack the self discipline and motivation to take care of their responsibilities. I will not answer questions regarding their performance numbers or character as they care only about themselves. At first glance, this probably seems like a pretty brutal and humiliating attempt at disparaging his players. But dig a little deeper and it appearsas though the sign wasa questionableattempt at motivating his players instead.Although the sign began surfacing on the internet Friday night, Moffitt claims that the message is "old news" and that it stems from the players missing a class. It looks like Moffitt's unusual techniques are paying off after all.Via Deadspin.

Earnhardt Jr. fed up with this race

Can you imagine the Sprint Cup Series without Dale Earnhardt Jr.?

"If this is what we did every week, I wouldn't be doing it, I will just put it to you like that," Earnhardt said after Sunday's Good Sam 500 at Talladega Speedway. "If this is how we raced every week, I would find another job."

Yes, it was in the heat of the moment. Yes, it was after a valiant comeback from outside of the top 20 and off the lead lap. And yes, it was after Junior watched his championship hopes dashed after leading the points nine races ago but now falling to being mired in 11th place, 51 points behind Brad Keselowski.

Earnhardt, who turns 38 on Wednesday, is known for his restrictor-plate prowess -- particularly at Talladega where he claims five career wins. However, none of Earnhardt's victories on the 2.66-mile track have been earned since NASCAR's Car of Tomorrow was introduced in 2007. And that year, the Talladega event resembled more of a parade not a race.

In the past three Chase races at Talladega, Earnhardt's average finish is 28th. No wonder NASCAR's Most Popular Driver quipped after the race Sunday, "I don't even want to go to Daytona and Talladega next year, but I have no choice."

Sure, Earnhardt had better results at Daytona this year. He finished second in the Daytona 500 and survived with a 15th-place showing in July. However, he's wrecked there twice in the last seven races and hasn't won on the 2.5-mile track since the 2004 Daytona 500.

Fortunately for Earnhardt, and the other 10 Chase for the Sprint Cup drivers that were caught up in the "Big One," the multicar crash that marred the final lap at Talladega on Sunday, the old car will go away at the end of the season. That's OK with Junior, who feels that with the current rules package, "The way we are going ain't the right direction."

"There are plenty of engineers out there, I'm just a driver," Earnhardt said. "There are plenty of smart people out there that can figure something out where when one guy gets in trouble we don't have 30 cars tore up at the expense of it.

"It's awesome, in a word, and everybody can get on the chip about it and get excited about all that which just happened, but for the longevity of the sport that ain't healthy. I don't care what anybody says for the good of the sport, I mean it's good for the here and now and it will get people talking today, but for the long run that is not going to help the sport the way that race ended and the way the racing is. It's not going to be productive for years to come."

NASCAR has an opportunity to massage the new car before its official debut in the 2013 Daytona 500. But will it prevent the style of racing that collected 25 cars on the last lap on Sunday?

Here are 10 other storylines to watch in the coming weeks:

1. Not the game changer we expected

Talladega didn't change a thing at the top of the Sprint Cup standings. The best three drivers in the points standings stayed the same -- just the deficit between them altered. Brad Keselowski survived Talladega with a remarkable seventh-place finish and extended his lead to 14 points over Jimmie Johnson. Denny Hamlin remained third in points after losing the draft on Sunday and finishing 14th. He now trails Keselowski by 23 points. For fourth-place Kasey Kahne (minus-36) and Clint Bowyer (minus-40), who is now fifth in the standings, it will be a scramble to get back in the hunt.

2. Oh, Kurt!

Another race, another misunderstanding between NASCAR and its former Cup champion. Now, we're all on Busch watch again. Will NASCAR reprimand the driver further after parking the No. 51 Phoenix Racing on Sunday when he ignored a command from the tower to stop after wrecking on the backstretch? Busch is scheduled to make his Furniture Row Racing debut on Saturday night but considering the driver is on probation from two earlier incidents this season, we'll just have to wait and see.

3. Comeback kid

After a valiant fight to qualify for the Chase at Richmond, Jeff Gordon crashed out at Chicagoland Speedway and has been battling back from his 47-point deficit ever since. In the last three races, Gordon finished third or better -- including second on Sunday. While he's vaulted from 12th to sixth in the points standings, Gordon has shaved just five points from his shortfall. He still trails Keselowski by 42 points.

4. A fond farewell

Before his swan song with Furniture Row Racing on Sunday, Regan Smith tweeted: "Today ends an important chapter in my life and career. ... I'd love nothing more than to get out of the 78 for the last time in Victory Lane!" Well, Smith came close. He finished fifth -- his first top five of the season and his third top-10 result with crew chief Todd Berrier. While Smith will be swapping rides with Kurt Busch at Phoenix Racing, we'll be watching with interest where he goes from here.

5. Home cooking

Most teams will be thrilled to return to Charlotte Motor Speedway this week with six races remaining in the Chase for the Sprint Cup. But consider this, Hendrick Motorsports drivers' Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson and Kasey Kahne have 15 wins between them on the 1 1/2-mile track. Dale Earnhardt Jr. has never won a points race at his home track but came close in last year's Coca-Cola 600 before running out of gas on the final lap. Saturday night's race could come down to a fuel-mileage feud again. If so, don't count points leader Brad Keselowski out.

6. Makes you go hmm ...

Kudos to David Ragan and Travis Kvapil, who finished fourth and eighth, respectively, on Sunday. Ragan has historically run well on restrictor-plate tracks, but his Talladega finish was his first top five of the season. Kvapil's first top 10 of the season also signifies the first top-10 finish for freshman team BK Racing.

7. Big breakthrough

Congratulations to Parker Kligerman, who earned his first career Trucks win in his 44th start on Saturday. Kligerman, 22, was released from Brad Keselowski Racing after the Pocono race on Aug. 4, but was picked up by Red Horse Racing for the following event. Seven races later, Kligerman rewarded the organization with their 10th career win in what was team owner Tom Deloach's 300th start.

8. Numbers game

Since the introduction of NASCAR's new car at Talladega, attendance has dwindled from 160,000 in the spring race in 2004 to an estimated 88,000 on Sunday.

9. Like father, like son

There was a whole lot of winning going on in the Kenseth household this weekend. Not only did Matt Kenseth top the Sprint Cup Series, son Ross won the All American 400 Super Late Model race at Fairgrounds Speedway in Nashville, Tenn., on Saturday night. Alas, it was back to classes on Monday for the 19-year-old Clemson student.

10. Water-cooler fodder

Under the old points system, Keselowski and Greg Biffle would be tied for first place in the standings, followed by Jimmie Johnson (minus-2), Dale Earnhardt Jr (minus-11). and Matt Kenseth (minus-27).

Darren McFadden is not a bust yet

Oakland Raiders running back Darren McFadden is having another injury filled season and every analyst is starting to bring out the bust label again. It started over the 2010 offseason when McFadden had two lackluster seasons in Oakland and McFadden showed them in 2010 he deserves the title of featured back. Then 2011 came in to smack him down again and 2012 has the bust haters coming back in for a meal. However it is too soon to label McFadden a bust and the proof is in his age. McFadden is only 25 years old at this point in his career.

Controversial ?Screaming Indian? Braves Logo to Appear on Team?s 2013 Batting Practice Hat (Photo)

Major League Baseball teams are updating their batting practice hats in advance of the 2013 season, and some of them are pretty cool. One of them, however, is getting buzz for all the wrong reasons. The Braves appeared to be following the trend in past years to move away from images associated with a not-so-proud period in United States history ? notably eliminating the ?screaming Indian? from their alternate throwback jerseys last year ? but in this instance appear to have reconsidered. Elementary school kids sing cute RG3 Christmas carol (Video)

A group of children from Janney Elementary School in the Tenleytown neighborhood of D.C. sung a rendition of the popular holiday carol ?O Christmas Tree,? but they turned it into one about the Redskins quarterback and called it ?O RG3.? According to D.C. Sports Bog, the carol was shown on CSN Washington?s pregame show prior to Washington?s 27-20 win over the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 16. Griffin tweeted about the carol and clearly appreciated it: Thank you for blessing me with my very own Christmas Carol say.ly/iIb4QbM ? Course owner picks dinos over Tiger

With all due respect to Rory McIlroy, Tiger Woods is still the biggest drawing card in golf, and it isn't particularly close.

Woods' brand might not be what it was before the infamous Thanksgiving 2009 incident, but it still holds a lot of weight in the sport. It's still the case that tournaments with Woods see increased attendance, and his name is still a bir player overseas.

So, the desire for most tournament directors and organizers is to lure Woods to their tournament for the publicity it brings. For instance, in 2011 Woods participated in the Australian Open and the tournament was even televised in the United States. This year, he didn't and the tournament hardly made waves.

One course owner clearly feels differently, however.

Clive Palmer, owner of the Palmer Coolum Resort that has annually hosted the Australian PGA Championship, says he would rather not have Woods' participation -- despite the tournament reaching out to Woods, McIlroy and Rickie Fowler, among others.

College football TV ratings are in; are fans tuning out?

Austin Karp of SportsBusiness Daily has the television ratings for college football's 2012 regular season, and it?s tough to know what to make of them. Aside from NBC, the home network for an undefeated Notre Dame team, the networks all saw declines in ratings this year. They ranged from ESPN losing roughly 4 percent of its audience from a year ago to NBC Sports Network hemorrhaging more than 70 percent of its viewers after ending its relationship with the Pac-12. Although the headline is jarring, my initial reaction was that it should come as no surprise that ratings would come down. The usual suspects such as ESPN and ABC are now competing with the CBS Sports Network, Big Ten Network, Pac-12 Network and FOX College Sports regional channels. (Note that those stations are not rated.) Furthermore, viewers can access content via online channels -- their PCs, laptops, smartphones and tablets with streaming capabilities. I don't know how the Nielsen Ratings account for that,...

Bryan McCabe Traded to Rangers

In the middle of what will be their 10th consecutive non-playoff season, the Florida Panthers continued to unload veteran players on Saturday by sending defenseman Bryan McCabe to the New York Rangers in exchange for forward Tim Kennedy and a third-round draft pick according to TSN. It's Florida's third major trade in the past month and follows the recent deals that saw it trade Michael Frolik to Chicago and Cory Stillman to Carolina.

The Stillman and McCabe trades didn't result in much of a return (the Panthers received Ryan Carter and a fifth-round pick for Stillman), but when you're trying to dump veterans that you're likely to lose as free agents on July 1, something has to be better than nothing.

McCabe, 35, is in the last year of his contract and had to waive his no-trade clause to accept the trade to New York. He'll give the Rangers a puck-moving, offensive presence -- although sometimes an erratic one -- on their blue line, having tallied five goals and 17 assists in 48 games this season.

New York will be on the hook for a pro rated cap hit of about $1.3 million for the remainder of the season.

Golden State Warriors Are NBA's Most Dangerous Sleeper Team

With coach Mark Jackson spurring a defensive intensity to match their offensive firepower, the secret is out—the Golden State Warriors are the NBA's most dangerous sleeper team.

At 18-10, the Warriors hold the fifth-best record in the Western Conference and a three-game cushion over the No. 6 seed. With each noteworthy victory notched, Golden State fans have started thinking about more than just a brief return to the postseason.

Through their first 28 games, they have already knocked off the L.A. Clippers, Atlanta Hawks (twice), Minnesota Timberwolves (twice), Brooklyn Nets (twice), Denver Nuggets, Indiana Pacers and Miami Heat. In fact, if this club could figure out the Orlando Magic or Sacramento Kings, they could be sitting at 22-6 (they are 0-4 against those teams).

The Warriors have always enjoyed a high-powered, potent offensive attack. Their games may not look like the track meets of years past, but the Warriors still average 100.8 points per game (No. 9 in the NBA).

Stephen Curry (who inked a four-year, $40 million extension prior to the start of the season) has seemingly put his two-year-long struggle with a nagging ankle injury behind him. Finally healthy, the fourth-year point guard has finally taken the second step in realizing the superstar potential he flashed during his rookie season.

He's continued his run as one of the league's most creative passers.

But he's balanced that free-flowing production with a more controlled approach to the position. His 2.9 assists per 36 minutes has him on pace for a new career low. Given his rapid-fire release, perimeter proficiency (44.0 career three-point percentage) and ability to create points off penetration, defenses are running out of ways to contain him.

Jackson has found even more ways to frustrate defenses in their attempts to slow down the former Davidson star. With the starting lineup, he's inserted sophomore marksman Klay Thompson on one wing and rookie athletic freak Harrison Barnes on the other.

Curry and Thompson are the NBA's most productive perimeter duo in the NBA, combining for over 5.5 three-pointers made per game. With Barnes (a capable shooter in his own right), Jackson has added a missing component to this offensive attack—a threat above the rim.

When Jackson dips into his bench, he's moved Curry over to the shooting-guard spot and handed the offensive keys to seven-year veteran Jarrett Jack. Defenses are forced to account for Jack's offense (12 points and 5.2 assists per game), all while chasing Curry and Thompson around a series of screens.

And the Miami Heat can tell you how dangerous it can be to cheat on the Warriors' shooters.

Of course, every team with a productive backcourt needs an interior complement.

And the Warriors have just that in David Lee and Carl Landry.

Lee has continued the same productive play he's shown throughout his seven-year career. He's averaged 20 points and 11.3 rebounds per game. And his 18 double-doubles are No. 2 in the NBA.

Landry, who signed a free-agent deal with the Warriors prior to the 2012-13 season, has provided the offensive lift for the frontcourt reserves. He hasn't started a game yet this season, but he's finished most of them.

Maybe it's his veteran sense, but Landry has shown a propensity to save his biggest moments for when his team needs them the most. He's scored at least 15 points in 12 different games, resulting in nine Warriors wins.

But the real reason for the Warriors' success has been a renewed (or maybe just new) focus on defense and rebounding.

Golden State has been a cellar-dweller in rebounding ranks for the better part of the past decade. In 2011-12, the Warriors suffered through a minus-6.7 rebounding differential (worst in the NBA). This season, though, the Warriors are plus-4.1 on the glass (No. 3 in the league).

Defensively, the improvements have not been as dramatic, but that hasn't diminished their importance.

The Warriors are No. 23 in the league in points allowed per game (100.2). And they're holding opponents to the seventh-lowest field-goal percentage in the NBA (43.4).

For the Warriors to take the next step in transforming this franchise from championship hopeful to contender, they'll need to stop playing to their level of competition.

This club has had success against perennial powerhouse clubs this season, but that's not a new phenomenon for recent Warriors teams.

The Warriors have also failed to put away inferior clubs early in the game. Of the 18 victories this season, only four have been decided by double figures.

With Jackson pulling all the right strings in Oakland, though, there's no reason to expect any difficulty in changing that fortune as well.

Maurice Clarett: I took paycut from college to pros

Maurice Clarett only spent one year at Ohio State as a member of their football team, but he sure did make it count. The former Buckeye running back was said to be living a life of luxury during his brief stint at OSU. This according to Monte Burke in his book 4th & Goal: One Man's Quest to Recapture His Dream.Deadspin published an excerpt of the book in which further details Clarett's college life:"Away from class, anything you can think of I did in my 13 months at Ohio State." Drugs and women were two of the things. Cars were another?he owned three of them at a time, including a brand-new Cadillac and Lexus. "I was living the NFL life in college," he says. "I got paid more in college than I do now in the UFL."Wait, what?A dark cloud already hangs over the program because of a separate incident involving a tattoo scandal. Ohio State was placed on 3-years probation and received a bowl ban for the 2012 season in punishment for that situation. ...

Red Sox Continue to Add Pitching by Trading for Pirates' Hanrahan

ESPN.com's Gordon Edes was the first to report that the Boston Red Sox were close to a deal for Pittsburgh Pirates' closer Joel Hanrahan.

Shortly after that, ESPN.com's Jim Bowden started giving the details to the actual deal between the two teams.

The main pieces to the swap look to be Hanrahan coming to Boston with the recently acquired Jerry Sands and minor league prospect Stolmy Pimentel going to Pittsburgh.

CBSSports.com's Jon Heyman later reported that the deal would involve six players in total, with the Pirates receiving four players and the Sox receiving two.

Edes later mentions that reliever Mark Melancon might be one of the players headed out of Boston.

Unless the fourth player is someone special from the Sox' farm system, Boston looks to be getting the best player in the deal.

MLB.com's Evan Drellich later confirmed Sunday that the deal won't be finalized until after Christmas, meaning the players might change.

The 31-year-old Hanrahan has been an effective closer for the Pirates and will certainly give the Sox a ton of options to close games next season.

This move doesn't immediately mean that current closer Andrew Bailey will be traded, but more the Red Sox were unsure about what they saw from Bailey and wanted more certainty at the end of games.

The Sox look to be preparing themselves to be playing a lot of 8-6 or 10-8 slugfests against the other teams of the American League.

If that's the case, having potentially the deepest bullpen in the majors will be a major asset.

Sox manager John Farrell will be able to ask the starters for six innings and give the bullpen the lead with a chance to win the game.

It is a low-risk move in the fact that the Sox are trading players who didn't really factor into their long-term plans and will likely clear four spots from their 40-man roster with the deal as well.

A deal like that for a two-time All Star who has saved 76 games over the past two seasons seems too good to pass up. This will be like the Bobby Jenks move, but much better.

The only potential downside to the deal is Hanrahan's 2012 average of over five walks per nine innings; that is asking for trouble at Fenway Park and could spell trouble in Boston.

Hanrahan's career strikeout average of 9.9 K/per nine innings gives the Sox someone who can get a strikeout when needed.

If they can get Daniel Bard back on track, the Sox could have a suddenly dynamic bullpen.

Between Hanrahan, Bard, Bailey, Craig Breslow, Alfredo Aceves and the recently signed Koji Uehara, the Sox will have six pitchers who have all held left-handed batters to a career batting average at .226 or below.

The Sox are going to make a lot of trips to the mound next season, which could turn out to be a good thing.

AFC Playoff Picture 2013: Power Ranking Top Remaining Wild-Card Contenders

The final pieces of the AFC playoff picture look a lot clearer than the NFC, with a lot less clutter at the bottom, and the top already decided. But the drama unfolding does lead to plenty of speculation about which team is the best.

There are three true contenders for the final two playoff spots in the AFC, each of them with a very different story bringing them to this point.

Indianapolis is far ahead of its rebuilding schedule; Pittsburgh is the team that always competes, but has struggled this year due to injuries to key players; Cincinnati is trying to establish itself as a major player in the AFC after making the playoffs last year.

But which team stands out above all the rest? Here are our rankings of the top contenders for the AFC wild-card spots.

No. 3: Indianapolis Colts (9-5)

As great as the story of the 2012 Indianapolis Colts is, it doesn't change the fact that this team is still a couple of years (and impact players on both sides of the ball) away from being a serious Super Bowl contender.

Going over their schedule, specifically the teams they have beaten,it leaves a lot to be desired. They have lived by the proverbial sword, flirting with disaster more often than not and living to talk about it.

They do have two impressive wins over Green Bay and Minnesota, but for the most part, they have been beating up on teams like Tennessee, Detroit, Jacksonville, Miami and Buffalo. They need just one more win to get in the playoffs, but they seem like a one-and-done team.

There is no shame in that considering where this team was at just one year ago, though it is not their time yet.

No. 2: Cincinnati Bengals (8-6)

The Bengals have done a remarkable job turning their season around following a 3-5 start. Quarterback Andy Dalton's season mirrors that of the team's. He had a 14-to-11 touchdown-to-interception ratio in the first eight games; that ratio is 12-to-3 to in the last six games.

The defense is playing much better, albeit against the likes of Kansas City, Oakland and San Diego. As impressive as they have been lately, the final two weeks of the season, against division rivals Pittsburgh and Baltimore, will tell us all we need to know about how far they have come.

Since the start of the 2011 season, the Bengals have lost all five of their games against the Steelers and Ravens. The true mark of a contender is being able to conquer the biggest obstacles standing in your way.

Let's see what the Bengals really are made of.

No. 1: Pittsburgh Steelers (7-7)

In typical NFL fashion, the best remaining wild-card contender in the AFC is the one with the worst record.

Should the Steelers fail to make the playoffs, they are going to spend a lot of time in the offseason wondering what might have been. If they are able to sneak in, they could be the most dangerous team in the AFC.

Of all the problems they have had this year, the biggest one is just staying healthy. They lost Ben Roethlisberger for three weeks, their secondary has been decimated by the injury bug. Their offensive line is abysmal, which hinders their power-running style.

Yet despite all those problems, Roethlisberger continues to prove why he is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, and the defense still ranks first in the league in total defense and eighth in points allowed.

They control their destiny over the final two weeks of the season. If they can defeat Cincinnati in Week 16, they will just need to take care of business against Cleveland at Heinz Field. That Black and Yellow mystique is going to carry the Steelers into the second season.
