Jay-Z helped Deron Williams look for a place in Brooklyn
Most people think that Brooklyn Nets minority owner Jay-Z is just a figure head of the organization but he's done a bit more than that.Nets general manager Billy King decided to reveal to the New York Times that Jay had helped Deron Williams look for a place for him to live to entice him to stay with the team:"When Deron Williams was making his decision [about whether or not he wanted to resign with the Nets], he was struggling for a place to live," King told the New York Times. "Jay-Z goes, 'Tell him I'll call him tomorrow and I'll help.' It's a lot about being able to relate to being wealthy, being young, being African-American. He can relate to them, where maybe I can't or [Nets owner] Mikhail [Prokhorov] can't."(Courtesy of Foot Basket)
